McIntyre Announces $370,000 for Carolina Beach Inlet Dredging Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representative Mike McIntyre announced today that he has secured $370,000 in emergency funding from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to dredge Carolina Beach Inlet. Congressman McIntyre stated, “This is a great victory for our area! It is fantastic news for Carolina Beach Inlet! With these additional funds, much needed dredging will take place and allow Carolina Beach Inlet to continue to be an important component of the coastal economy.” McIntyre continued, “I would like to thank Corps Headquarters in Washington and Colonel Ray Alexander and the Wilmington Corps District for working with us on this issue. In addition, many thanks to all the elected officials and citizens from Carolina Beach, New Hanover and North Carolina who have worked with us and voiced their concern on this critical matter.” With these funds, Carolina Beach Inlet will be dredged twice in the upcoming months.
