Notice of Integrated Registration Program NOAA Fisheries Service is increasing the number of fisheries for which the Marine Mammal Authorization Program (MMAP) registration is integrated with existing state and Federal fishery licensing and permitting programs. MMAP registration will be integrated for state fisheries permitted through the states of North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, Texas, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The
will reduce the registration burden on the fishing industry while facilitating the protection and conservation of marine mammals through increased outreach efforts. Fishermen will no longer have to submit an MMAP Pregistration/renewal form or the $25 processing fee to NMFS in order to receive or renew their MMAP Authorization Certificates. However, if a fisherman participating in a Category I or II fishery does not receive their authorization certificate by March 31, 2006, they should contact NOAA Fisheries Service to inquire about the status of their registration.
