Press Conference Call for the National Fish Habitat Action Plan

Press Conference Call for the National Fish Habitat Action Plan

It’s not every day you have an opportunity to talk fish, fishing and
aquatic habitat with H. Dale Hall, Director of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife
Service; Bill Hogarth, NOAA Fisheries Service Assistant Administrator; John
Cooper, Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies President and other
national conservation leaders. But on Monday, April 24, 2006, you can.

Please join selected national media representatives in a toll-free,
one-hour press conference call on Monday, April 24, 2006, at 2 p.m. Eastern
Daylight Time with leaders and partners of the National Fish Habitat Action
Plan. Please RSVP to Laury Parramore. (See contact info below.) To access
the call, please dial 1-888-642-8528 and use the passcode FISH.

April 24, 2006, will be a significant day in the nation’s
conservation history as a diverse array of hundreds of partners – from
local watershed and fishing groups to state and federal agencies and others
— introduce the National Fish Habitat Action Plan to the public at
Congressional Casting Call 2006 on the Potomac River in Washington, D.C.
The event, featuring Bush Administration cabinet-level officials, members
of Congress, and leaders in industry, academia and conservation, will serve
as the formal introduction and roll-out of the National Fish Habitat Action
Plan. For more information about this event, visit
http://congressionalcastingcall.com/default.aspx and contact Laury
Parramore if you wish to attend. (See contact information, below.)

Much like the North American Waterfowl Management Plan, a highly
successful conservation program for waterfowl and other wildlife, the
National Fish Habitat Action Plan will protect, restore and enhance fish
and aquatic communities through partnerships that foster fish habitat
conservation. The plan is unprecedented in its scope and in the diversity
of its supporters. To learn more about the plan, visit
http://www.fishhabitat.org.

To RSVP for the press conference call and for more information,
contact Laury Parramore (see contact information below). Thank you for your
interest.
