When you create or use a Saltwater Central account, we may collect information such as your username, email address, account identifiers, and other information you provide as part of your account.
We use this information to authenticate your account, provide access to Saltwater Central services, manage subscriptions and entitlements, provide customer support, and maintain the security of our systems.
When you voluntarily provide a mobile phone number and affirmatively consent to SMS messaging, Saltwater Central may use that number for account verification, authentication, passwordless sign-in, account recovery, security, and transactional service or purchase notifications, including FISHHere map-ready alerts.
SMS consent is optional and is not a condition of creating an account, purchasing a product, or using Saltwater Central services that do not require SMS verification. Message frequency varies based on account activity. Message and data rates may apply.
Saltwater Central does not use this SMS program for advertising or promotional marketing.
We may retain evidence of SMS consent, including the date and time consent was provided, the method used to collect consent, the version of the disclosure presented, and the message purposes authorized. These records may be maintained for compliance, security, dispute resolution, and applicable legal or business-record retention requirements.
Mobile phone numbers and SMS consent information are not sold or rented. Mobile information and SMS consent will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes.

When you sign into ReefCast, the app communicates with Saltwater Central servers to authenticate your account and determine whether you have access to ReefCast services.
Authentication and session information may be stored on your device so that ReefCast can keep you signed in and provide access to services associated with your account.
ReefCast may offer subscriptions or other purchases through Apple’s App Store or Google Play.
Purchases made through these services are processed by Apple or Google. Saltwater Central does not receive or store your complete credit card or payment-card information from those transactions.
We may receive and maintain information necessary to verify a purchase and determine your subscription status, such as the product purchased, subscription status, expiration information, and transaction or receipt information.
Apple and Google process purchases according to their own privacy policies and terms.
ReefCast and other Saltwater Central services may use location information to provide location-related marine weather, mapping, buoy, forecast, or similar features.
When device location is requested, access is subject to the permissions you choose on your device. You may deny or disable location access through your device settings.
Saltwater Central may also process locations that you manually select, search for, save, or otherwise provide when using location-based services.
When you use Saltwater Central websites, apps, or online services, our servers may automatically receive technical information such as your IP address, browser or device information, request information, dates and times of access, and diagnostic or security information.
We use this information to operate our services, diagnose problems, prevent abuse, protect our systems, and improve reliability.

Deleting a Saltwater Central account does not automatically cancel an active subscription purchased through Apple’s App Store or Google Play. App Store and Google Play subscriptions must be managed or canceled through the applicable Apple or Google account.
Certain information may be retained when required for legal, accounting, security, fraud-prevention, or regulatory purposes.
Saltwater Central and ReefCast are not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. If we learn that personal information from a child has been collected improperly, we will take appropriate steps to remove it.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information under our control. No internet service, electronic transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
