Notice is hereby given that the NC Marine Fisheries Commission Shellfish Advisory Committee will meet on Monday, November 15, 2004, at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will be held in Room 305 at the Center for Marine Sciences and Technology Building (C-MAST), 303 College Circle, Morehead City, North Carolina.
The MFC Shellfish Committee will discuss management of bay scallops
during the winter. Trish Murphey will present data and information on the subject at the meeting. The Division will give an update on Asian Oysters.
The Committee will also receive an update on the MFC Committee reviews
of the Draft Oyster Fishery Management Plan (FMP) Amendment concerning dredge weights and harvest restrictions.
The Committee asked to review what the Division was proposing for a possible December scallop season and what measures would be incorporated for the January through spring season.

ETHICS EXECUTIVE ORDER:
Every member of the Marine Fisheries Commission has the duty to avoid conflicts of interest or appearances of conflict with respect to matters before the Commission, or Committees and Councils of the Commission. In addition, the ethics executive order mandates that the Chairman inquire whether any Commissioner knows of any known conflict of interest or appearance of conflict with respect to matters before the Commission, Committee or Council. If any Commissioner knows of a conflict of interest or appearance of conflict, he should so state at the beginning of this meeting. Commissioners having questions about a conflict of interest or appearance of conflict should consult with counsel to the Marine Fisheries Commission or the Secretary’s ethics liaison. Upon discovering a conflict consistent with Executive Order One, the Commissioner should inform the Chairman of the Commission, Committee or Council.
