Notice is hereby given that the North Carolina Marine Fisheries Commission Habitat and Water Quality Committee will meet on Monday, September 27, 2004 at 3:00 p.m. at Carteret Community College located at College Circle, in the C-Mast Building, Room #305 in Morehead City, NC.
The Subcommittee does not have any permit elevations to discuss. However, the Army Corps of Engineers is considering discontinuing locking of anadromous (shad, herring, striped bass) and catadromous (eels) fish for the dams on the Cape Fear River. The Division and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service have provided comments on this issue, which will be discussed.
The Subcommittee also will receive updates on several projects. The Committee will discuss a proposal for development of a MFC Compensatory Mitigation Policy.
