Rhode Island woman medevaced from yacht off Jacksonville JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Coast Guard Station Mayport rescue boat crew medevaced a 24-year-old Rhode Island woman from the 180-foot yacht Grand Mariner about 2:18 a.m. today 12 miles east of Mayport, Fla. Lyndsay Sears, 24 of Warwick, R.I., was dehydrated and vomiting blood. Concerned for Sears’ health, the Captain of the Grand Mariner contacted Coast Guard Group Mayport about 12:30 a.m. today and requested Sears be medically evacuated. A 47-foot motor lifeboat rescue crew from Station Mayport rendezvoused with the Grand Mariner. The Coast Guard rescue crew arrived back at Station Mayport about 3 a.m. today. Sears was transferred to EMS for further transfer to Beaches Baptist Hospital. The 180-foot Grand Mariner was reportedly en route from Key West, Fla to the yacth’s homeport of Warren, R.I.
