River Herring FMP Advisory Committee The Marine Fisheries Commission (MFC) River Herring FMP Advisory Committee will meet on Tuesday, February 28, at 6 p.m. The meeting will be held at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Fish Hatchery, located at 1104 West Queen Street, Edenton, NC. River Herring FMP Advisory Committee The Marine Fisheries Commission (MFC) River Herring FMP Advisory Committee will meet on Tuesday, February 28, at 6 p.m. The meeting will be held at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Fish Hatchery, located at 1104 West Queen Street, Edenton, NC.
The committee will receive an update on the harvest of river herring under temporary management measures for the 2006 fishing season as part of the Draft River Herring Fishery Management Plan passed by the MFC at their November 2005 meeting.
The committee will receive presentations on river herring critical habitat (spawning and nursery areas), water quality, blockages, and entrainment /impingement.
