The North End Ad-Hoc Committee Phase 1 Management Plan
Hours – open 24 hours a day – 7 days a week
Enforcement – the Carolina Beach Dept will patrol the north end of the beach for compliance of the existing rules enacted by the New Hanover County Commissioners and rules listed on application for vehicle permit sheet.
Fee – $10 for a one day permit and $40 for an annual one year permit.
Special event fee set by Town Manager.
Sanitation – provide bathroom facilities that will meet CAMA permit regulations.
Private Property – install “No Trespassing Signs” at or near the vegetation or dune line.
Environmental – Extend daily turtle nesting monitoring to include the north end beachfront during nesting season.
1. All drivers operate their vehicles on the beach strand at their own risk.
2. Permitted vehicles must meet all state license and safety requirements and must display a valid state inspection sticker.
3. Operate vehicles in designated areas only. Driving said vehicle into the “No Trespassing Area” is strictly prohibited.
4. No driving is allowed between the water line and the high tide crest.
5. Littering of any kind is strictly prohibited. Litter or waste may not be buried or discarded. If you bring it in take it out.
6. Only vehicles with a valid permit are allowed on the beach.
7. Maximum speed limit for beach driving is 15 mph.
8. Annual permit must be displayed on the lower right hand corner of the front windshield on the passenger side of the vehicle. One-day permits must be hung from the rearview mirror.
9. Permits are not transferable to another vehicle.
10. Permit may be revoked, without refund, as a result of the violation of these or any other north end rules or regulations.
11. No camping, fires or driving within 10 ft of dune or vegation line.
