Wildlife Resources Commission Seeks Conservation Award Nominations RALEIGH, N.C. (March 17, 2006) – The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission is accepting nominations for the first Thomas L. Quay Wildlife Diversity Award. The newly created award will recognize an individual for outstanding contributions to wildlife diversity conservation in North Carolina. Presentation of the award will take place during the July meeting of the Wildlife Resources Commission. The award is named for a retired professor of zoology at N.C. State University. Dr. Quay, besides being an internationally respected ornithologist, influenced several generations of budding wildlife biologists through his classroom and field instruction. The Commission’s Nongame Committee will select a winner from nominations received by the May 1 deadline.
