dont want anything too expensive ($300-400)as I dont hunt for deer that much, looking for a 270 or something along that line with a scope. In wilmington 910 520 0874
i know savage makes a good inexpensive gun just dont know much about them as far as reliability goes thanks

I have had a Savage 270 I bought at walmart 10yrs ago and have not had a single problem out of it. I have shot all the other brands and I will take my savage 270 over any other rifle.
I did upgrade to a Loupold scope though.
I have killed many deer with it and at long range. In my opinion it is the flatest shooting round out there.
You wont be dissapointed
The Savage package deal (Axis or Edge) with the Nikon scope is absolutely the best deal for the money. The Nikon scope that now comes with it is a $200 scope!
I've also got a savage .270 it came wirh a simmons 3x9x32 scope and there is no tellin how many deer has been killed with it. Its the ol reliable and wouldn't take nothin for it.
i have a savage 270. just as good of a gun as my browning. i put a nikon scope on mine. it stays in my truck all year round. ive shot wild hogs, foxes, coyotes, deer, u name it. when it aint in my truck its in the combine, or cotton picker with me. it is actually shoots a tighter group than my browning bar.

I got a Ruger American rifle brand new in box (308, 270, or 30-06 your choice of caliber), Barska 3-9x40 scope, rings and bases, mounted and bore sighted with 2 boxes of Hornady ammo for $450 at the shop. Also have other combos for a little less too.
