Anyone know what this is? Sorry I know the pic is small. Don't have the details on where it was caught - posting for a buddy of mine.

Wow, that was fast! Thanks - I believe you are right!

Funny story - I sent a reply to my buddy with your answer and the Wiki link to filefish. And explained to him that according to Wiki the food value is low and most people prepare it similat to jerky - and live in Korea! I asked him who caught it and what they did with it - he replied to me and his boss saying "my boss caught it and it's his dinner tonight!". Got a good laugh out of that!

Wonder if Wiki is right on the food value? Looked a little like one from the trigger family...thought it might have some food value until I saw the Wiki link.

Filefish for sure they change colors when stressed or threatened really cool fish!

I caught some file fish in Hawaii and while I was cleaning them my wife was looking them up on the web and found a site that said "eating file fish can KILL you" Apparently they feed on the coral and carry ciiguatera. We did not eat them. Hope the Boss had a good meal!
