The Coast Guard is proposing to discontinue and permanently remove all buoys and navigational aids from Lockwood Inlet. There is a month long comment period and this will be a key factor in there final decision. As a community please join us in expressing the importance of a well marked inlet for boater safety. Lockwoods Folly Inlet Buoy 5 (LLNR 31027), Lockwoods Folly Inlet Buoy 6 (LLNR 31030)

Y’all need to speak up if you the inlet to stay open
It only takes a couple minutes to complete the feedback form and email it in.

Why would they even considering closing a well used inlet. Money? Lot of people are going to
get hurt navigating without markers.
Dose this area need dredged ? If so the USCG dose not do dredging. If area can not be navigated safely . Buoys will be removed.
USACOE or contractors have been dredging Lockwood for decades. The problem is they usually end up with a 'ditch', which fills in easily, as opposed to a real channel ...
