Headed to Ocracoke the 26-28th of April

I know it's a long way out but the way gas is going a 200$ or less trip is looking like 400$. We (Me and my 13 year old son) are new and would love to have some help on learning how to fish. I have been offshore for a coulple of years now but I was always told to watch the finder and drive the boat... We may try a trip sooner depends on how bad spring fever get's. Translates to about 10 gal saved. Gotta get out and put a new bunk on the trailer and try to blow the cobwebs out of the Albie.
