Hello all,

I just moved to Wilmington and am looking to learn about the fishing around here. I'm coming from Virginia where I've fished the Chesapeake bay my entire life for rockfish (stripers), blues, spanish, specs and cobia. The Parker I fished on up there will stay there for the time being, so all I have down here is my small (15') aluminum boat. I hope I can at least get out on that for some intracoastal fishing down here. I love all types of fishing, from surf/shore fishing, to hitting the bigger water. If anyone has any advice, or wants to get together and fish, please let me know! I will definitely be putting the time in to learn things myself, but it always helps to have some friends!

Hello Mac,

Welcome to the forum, lots of knowledgeable folks on here. A little boat this time of year is not bad. Lots of red fish and trout inshore. Cafe Fear Anglers have a meeting every month and is posted on this site. You could find a wealth of info there. My boat is dry docked currently for some minor repairs but should be sea worthy again soon. Shoot me a PM and we'll talk.
