Unfortunately we had to postpone the 2019 Morehead City Military Appreciation Day event this year. Plans are being made and laid to have an event in 2020, although it may be smaller and scaled back, the intent and purpose remains the same.
There was an ad placed in the Carteret Times by mistake advertising the event, and I got a phone call from a couple of Vets asking how to participate.I had to let them down on that one.
While we target Active Duty personnel, I am partial to our Vets in the same manner.
I told them that while the event was postponed, I would reach out to my fellow fishermen and see if any of them had interest in helping them out. It is a Father-Son thing, the Father was in Marines and the Son in the Army. They are local to Newport/Jacksonville and I am asking if anyone would be willing to help take them out for a day offshore.
I would do it myself but I would need my Mate with me and have to have it scheduled in advance.....well you know how the weather and ocean are always cooperating here in NC so that is why I am posting here.

Otherwise....a thank you shout out to everyone who has helped with Military Appreciation Day events in the past, you mean the world to us and we will MAKE IT GREAT AGAIN!
Also please note our other MAD chapters are strong with events in Tidewater VA, Charleston SC, and the next NC event is Southport the second weekend in September so look for posts on that soon!
