That explains the new survey. Looks like they cut through the sand bar coming off bear island. Not sure that will stay open long. Had hoped to try it out Sat, but plans change.
looks like you could go out 3 different ways by a drone shot last week. Be safe! Next year rite around the corner
they got a new survey and it looks good for now
Was looking at that. For some reason they didn’t put waypoints this time?
maybe in the next two week I can finally get to try the inlet out at low tide and lite wind.
Ran out and back inlet today at about 12:30. So outgoing tide and probably a foot above low tide. Saw some 2.5 foot hits on way out, but coming back in same route nothing less than 7 foot. Not sure. And a boat capsized about an hour later apparently.
I should add, I followed the route indicated in the army corps of engineers survey. On my way in I watched at 22-23’ CC come n a different way over the bar, further east. If you were headed out, cross over from bear island side to right against the point when that is parallel to the overall coast line. From the point head out 45 deg east of straight out if that makes sense. Basically angle off towards the pier. Looked much smoother than the straight out option but a didn’t have time to try it out.
I’ve not seen anything about any incident in the inlet. Thinking that rumor not true.
Thanx for info
