I know this topic has been beat to death but does anyone have a suggestion for a better mouse trap for TV. My cable bill has just hit $220.00 per month and that includes my phone and wi fi service. sick and tired of commercials and packages that have one show I want and paying for ten I don't care about. Also sick and tired of new customers getting more options than I have for less than half what I pay.

You can get internet through your cell provider or cable provider. I wouldn't do dish internet but some phone companies are ok too. We pay roughly $50 a month for internet alone, only option in my neighborhood. $9 for netflix. I have an apple tv and amazon firestick. We don't watch near as much tv as some but get by fine. netflix usually has more than enough to get me by. Internet will be your biggest cost of it all

Rabbit ears
Amazon Firestick (I have a jailbroken one & it's really not all that great - hindsight I'd just buy a normal one IMO)
Charter internet $45
Netflix $8
Phone AT&T unlimited everything - $35
Amazon Prime

I have a small indoor antenna for all the local channels, Netflix and Amazon Prime via a Roku.
Definitely watch less TV, some things I'd probably watch if I could but I don't miss it now and total monthly bill is around $70

Cut the cord, put in a HD antennae in the attic. I get all local channels. Also bought a Tablo which allows me to record OTA channels. Bought a ROKU stick use Sling TV cost is 38.77 per month including Cloud DVR and additional channels. Took 400 mps Spectrum internet fo$49.98 per month (includes wire protection) For a land line I purchased an OOMA box 8 years ago. Voice over internet protocol. Box cost me $200.00 monthly bill is $5.20
So my monthly for TV, Internet and phone is $93.95. Land line internet, 2 dvr's (whole house) 1 for over the air and 1 for streaming. More TV than I could ever watch. I got rid of Direct TV and ATT. Very happy.

I had cable for years, cut the cable and had the best Digital VHF and UHF antennas on the roof and streamed Netflix and HuLu. I had that setup about 3 years. It got old because at Harkers Island the closest tower is about 60 miles, so it was hit and miss.

I now use the Spectrum App to stream all local channels and 10 of my choice for 21 bucks a month. But, I also pay Spectrum internet at 49 bucks a month. I truly think this is the best compromise if you want Discovery, Nat Geo, etc,etc..

You have to be able to add the Spectrum App to your TV (Smart TV) or have a Roku ($29 at Walmart).

Seems to be the best of all worlds for me. works real well too. You also have full rights on several handheld devices too. So If im somewhere with not TV I can catch up on my IPAD.

Cut the cable and go high speed internet only...you can get an antenna that will pick up a lot of local stuff (except Harkers island). but youtube TV has a very good list of Live TV channels(local News) and you can add like up to 6 Email accounts to one paid account. So im actually using my brothers account for free, guess I gotta get him a nice Christmas present this year!

I've been able to watch NC State football games on youtube tv that were not on my Spectrum Basic TV channels this year, so im cutting out the Basic TV as well. Youtube TV is around 40$ a month I believe but maybe you can find someone to go in with you and share your account with them.

We’ve been off of a,satellite dish for about 6 years now. Couldn’t be happier. Used Netflix, amazon prime, and two years ago got Directv Now. It streams off the internet like everything else we watch. I think it cost something like $40 for 100 channels.
