Greeting members and friends of Cape Fear Anglers. For the last few months a few of us have been trying to restart the club after we were forced to stop meeting due to Covid 19. We have had 2 meetings so far and have discussed various changes to the organization. For now we are still meeting at Inlet Watch Yacht Club and Marina at 801 Paoli Court in Wilmington at 6:30 pm the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Our next meeting will be Tuesday September 21. We will be catering dinner for those who wish from Thyme Savor Caterers. The cost of dinner is $15.00 . We would ask that if you are going to attend PLEASE respond to this link and indicate if you would like to have dinner. The Charge of $15.00 is just to cover the cost of the caterer and drinks. We are not making a profit from the dinner. In fact we will not be collecting ANY dues until January 2022. We do need to iron out a few points, such as possibly changing our meeting venue to a restaurant. If we do we would no longer be paying rent and we could lower the membership dues. It would also help with the issue of food. We never know how many people will show up for a meeting so we either over or under estimate the amount of attendees which either costs the club or we are short on food. If we go to a restaurant it would be up to the individual to decide if they want to eat or not, and they could choose from the menu.
We will have a guest speaker this month. Captain Rod Bierstedt of On My Way Charters. Captain Rod will be sharing his knowledge on Fall Fishing from 3 miles out to the stream. Whether it be trolling or bottom fishing. Rod is an absolute wealth of knowledge and really enjoys sharing it with everyone. We look forward to seeing you on the 21st.
