Looking for a Furuno VS2 compatible C-Map card for NC offshore. I am interested in good bottom definition. These look like the Navionics cards but have the CMap format. Thanks

I just downloaded the C-map Reveal for my Simrads, Day and night difference in features from the version that came with the units. especially bottom features. Unfortunately they load directly to the plotters. so no cards to share.

I have heard mixed reviews on the REVEAL in NC waters - that it really doesn't contain the level of information that it would for Florida and the Bahamas
No doubt its better than the base map, but i'd like to hear your opinion of what YOU see vs what Youtube shows for data in NC
I am leaning towards the Navionics platinum plus as of right now.....
(I also run Simrad)

I have one of the VS2 plotters that use the Navionics and the newer VS2 that uses only the C-Map format. From the digging and talking with CMap and Navico, being they are the older Furuno machines that pretty much are the options. I have to chuckle saying the “older” Furuno product, as they are the newest/fanciest machines I’ve ever owned. I trust my old 1650 above all of them. Old Dog syndrome I guess

Compared with what I had the Reveal is 100% better. First trip off shore was Monday with it and I liked it but... I think I need more experience with it to really find out what its capabilities are. With a little help from Mother Nature I should know in a few weeks. One of the regulars on the boat has the Navionics so between us we should be able to get a good comparison. One thing for sure, I see in the smaller ledges now that I did not know were there and it seems pretty accurate. Stay tuned..
