I'm new to this forum and didn't see a better spot to post this so if i'm in the wrong location please forgive me. I'm taking my 24' SeaRay with me to Holden Beach for the week (Sat - Sat) and was hoping to do a bit of fishing (Nearshore & Offshore). I have found a few reef locations but i was hoping someone could give me a good start on what is biting right now and where i could go. Most of my trolling gear is still in the bahamas so i will most likely be bottom fishing on light/med gear. Thanks in advance!!

Look in the main menu....Click on Bluewater Supermap....Hit Waypoints->Public->Ars, Ledges and Rocks.

There are 9000 there. Should get you going.

Kings and Spanish are on the beach right now. The Mahi are out in 75 to 100 feet fo water. For the bottom fishing you will need to get to the 75 to 100 feet area to find some good bottom fishing. I would say around the Horseshore or the SW Tower bottom area.

Will be out all weekend and next week on Charters so give me a call on ch06 Feedin Frenzy. Will be most out 40 miles or so. Got a few Gluf Stream trips too.

I had my dad pick up some hotspot charts (we have used them in Charleston) and i'm going to make a list of what i find on supermap. Depending on when we get into town i may swing by the docs Saturday and then go out Sunday. Any clue what they are taking and the best bait shop to use?

The Rod and Reel shop therer on the causeway going on to the Holden Beach it on the right side of the road. For bait we have been using Priate Plugs with Cigar Minnows for the Kings and Mahi out in the 75 to 100 feet of water area. For the Kings on the beach use pogies. For the Bottom fishing we use squid and cut bait. But most of our bottom fishing is done by Jigging.

We will be back to the dock om Saturday around 6pm we got a Stream trip on Saturday. Sunday we will be back at 4pm

Keith, I hope you don't mind my asking what type of jig you are using. I have had limited sucess with jigs in the past so i normally use squid and cut bait. I have heard some good stuff about Roscoe Jigs but honestly have never used one.

Here the tower numbers. They are also some good number on Bluewater Supermap for that area too.

Frying Pan Tower
N33 29.180
W078 35.70

It will be difficult to get to this area if you are just snorkelling.
