How much mono do you guys run after the planer with your planer rod setups? I purchased a package already put together, and it just seems like a lot of line. There is probably a good 60-70 yards.

I run my planer in a hand line setup but my leader after the planer is 80 yds of 100# mono to 20 yds of 100# fluorocarbon then about 12" of 80# solid strand wire. I don't catch big fish on it, but it catches fish.

I run a Bridle and all that line goes on the reel after removing the planer.

I am running a bridle also, just wondering how far back the lure will run behind the planer.

we run about 90 ft. of 100 ib. mono and have good luck on a #8 planer.
