If you click the banner on the front page....It will take you to a "Details" page. Scroll to the bottom and there is a Google Map of the location and you can get Driving Directions from it.

The inlet is known as a tough one and it definately has it's challenges. It gets dredged fairly often, but it can change drastically with just one good storm. The buoys are normally good but can be misleading at times. I always keep an eye on the water. As it's said calm water runs deep. You can pick out the deeper water fairly easily. I always trust my eye over the buoys. just post up with a question as we get close to the Get together and some one will help you out and let you know it's condition.

Read the water, it is clearly evident in that inlet. If it's nasty, run up the ditch 5-6 miles to Masonboro that has jetties.
Reverse that if coming in and it's stacked up, go to Masonboro. Did it a few times myself and glad I did

Dave,
Realistically how may tables could you use. I've found a few more but won't bring them over unless needed. Still working on the Trailer for the band and M.C.

I'd think this deserves a sticky! Hope I can make it. Sounds like it's going to be a serious 'talking fishing' day. How far is CB from New Bern, and anyone else from the New Bern area heading down?
Guess I can't help out much being this far away, but Dave, let me know if there is. I can shuttle stuff from Morehead or New Bern areas if need be.

Nah, it's gotta be over two hours. Still not that far to drive for a get together of these proportions!

Would love to be there as I plan on being at Topsail that weekend looking for the bonita. Will probably have to pass as I need to get back to Winston-Salem that day and 4+ hours driving after this shindig is probably not a good idea. Sundays just don't work for us weekend warriors. Have fun!!

Dave:
Times are tough for everybody.
Its not fair that you should have to pay for it all.
I would be surprised if anybody has a problem with some type of charge to help out.

Frank,
We will be doing some fund raiseing I am sure. There is talk of a 50/50 raffle, An Auction and of coarse I ALWAYS except donations. My view is that If I outpiut quality things...(Supermap, ReefCast, Solunar tables, etc)...the community will look after me. Overall it has worked out decent.
Thak You for looking after me!
Dave

I wouldn't think that a few bucks per person to help offset expenses would keep anyone away. Might not cover expenses, but it would help. I'd be in favor of it.
Backlash, thanks for the info.
