3x Flounder Pro 3000 Light bars (Not the greatest or brightest, probably won't buy again)

We are going to be redoing our entire setup this spring. We've been using the old sea striker lights lashed to the bow rail. It works but it's a pain and the 12V incandescent bulbs drain the batteries too quickly. They tend to leak and then the bulb quits. We drift into a sand bar or marsh bank and the pole gets bent around. We are ready to go a different route.
I've always thought that the lights needed to be in the water to get the best illumination. Looking at your setup, all of your lights are well above the water. Do you not have any issue with reflection, etc? I guess if they are bright enough they light up the area sufficiently?
