What is better, single hook with a treble or two treble hooks.
What's your opinions.
I recreational fish only out of Shallotte NC.

Two trebles with 4 to 5 inches between the two. Some use #6's, I prefer #6's in the front and #4's in for the stinger/trailer. Also use the black nickel...they seem to hold up better for re-use a few times. VMC has done well for me this past year.

I use both but seem to have more luck with a single VMC live bait J hook up front and a VMC #4 4x strong in the back. Now i guess it just luck but I seem to catch more on that than 2 trebles. Can't really go wrong with either.

met a nice guy at the Raleigh fishing shoe this weekend. Scott spent a good bit of time going over live and dead bait rigs for king fishing. Then my son who 9 said I was not allowed to talk to any one else - lol. He was ready to leave after he ate his popcorn I guess.
Heres the address - www.kingmactak.com
or email him at scott@kingmactak.com

I've been using eagle claws L774 #4 trebles. Decent price.
Any better hook for cheaper price?

I switched to VMC from eagle claw due to the eagle claw hooks rusting. About the same price.

X2 on the VMC, you can reuse them, stick with the 4x strong, no matter what size you use.

Ha. I do the opposite. I feel like the number 4s fit through the nose better. It seems the 6ís come out from time to time. I also feel like the smaller profile of the 6 helps on the trailer but thatís mainly me over thinking. Iíve caught plenty on two number 4s as well.

Also, VMC is the way to go. ESP if you want to reuse them. Just make sure whatever you buy is 4x. The 4x 6s are hard to come by but if youíre in MHC EJW carries rhem

2 VMC 4x #6 trebles. Used to use a single j hook and made the switch. Seemed the hookup ratio became much better. Either way we strictly use #6. Fun fishing I could care less on the size. Tournament time itís low pro
