I live in Maine, and the fishing lately has been...incredible. I just got back from a fishing trip where we limited on haddock in two hours. We were catching Acadian Redfish in the PM as well as pollock. We rarely see the Acadia Redfish before April, but they were everywhere in the PM. Fishing has been remarkable in the past few years up here, and even though it is New England, and January is not warm...It was totally worth the fridged waters to go out 20 miles into the Gulf Of Maine.

Cool video. How deep is the water you are fishing in?

It was crazy I tell you. We were in 450 feet. In the summer we only have to go about 70 - 100. In the winter it's deeper, but on that day, wow, we went deep. My other video the one taken with pollock we were only like 200 feet. But that was October. You ever fish New England?

I don't but it is on my list of things to do.

Not sure I want to fish 450 feet though. Been trying to make it work for a trip to Long Island for cod but between weather and work, I have been unsuccessful

Long Island has seen a remarkable shift in fishing. In the Gulf Of Maine, Cod is limited to 1 fish per person and ONLY in the 2 weeks of Sept 15 through Sept 30. It's banned the rest of the year. I believe Rhode Ilsand and Long Island allow 10 per person. Are you near LI?

That's some nice fish videos but I don't know about 450' without an electric reel. Maybe I'm just lazy but that is a lot of reeling up fish from that deep. Nice catch.
