Just wondering if restaurants closing in NC indirectly help the flounder population. I believe commercial guys could keep on fishing but with local restaurants closed, has it reduced the commercial catch or are the flounder going to other places?

Most NC caught flounder goes out of state, and most flounder served in NC restaurants is frozen, Gulf fillets.

interesting, on the WRAL report "troubled waters" it said 96% of flounder consumed in USA comes from NC waters.

I highly doubt that since well over 90% of all seafood consumed in the US is imported
96% of flounder may be processed through NC (I doubt that too) but I would be more than shocked if that much could be caught in NC waters
