Was just testing my replacement transom light install. It might be a regulation but I don't understand why turning on my Stern (white light) turns off my transom lights. I would like independent control of both, how do I correct the wiring for this?

3 way switch. Wire both transom and stern to the up position, center position is off, wire just the Transom lights to the back/down position or have a separate switch for both of them, if you have space available. For the transom lights are you referring to underwater lights?

Thank you for your response. The wiring is all so tight in this second hand boat. I have a three position off/achor/nav switch and a separate transom switch but was surprised that they were connected in anyway. I need to dig deeper assuming there is some jumper connecting the two. Getting frustrated as every time I fix something I find 5 other things that need attention.
