My son Jack hooked up to this shark while jigging for bsb, after about 15 minutes he came up boat side. Released, I'm thinking Sandbar shark, what do you think.

Brown shark AKA Sandbar. Long pointed dorsal fin is the clue.

I'm kinda surprised you hooked him on one of those jigs, and on that long. I've rarely caught sharks on artificials. Got a baby blackfin on a hopkins in the surf once, a couple makos on the troll. But that's it.
