Anyone use TieDown brakes for their trailer? They look to be affordable.

Look into Kodiak. More expensive but better quality

Tie down sucks. I had there so called stainless system on my boat and in less than 1 season they were beyond rusted and calipers locked up. Spent the money and now have kodiak. A little surface rust after use and it sits but everything still functioning properly.

x 3 look at Kodiak. I went thru 2 sets of Tie downs before I bought Kodiak and had no more issues.
Unfortunately my new boat came with Tie Down and I am back to square A.

Agree to what is stated above...if brakes are necessary.

Tried out the Tie Down G5's and they burned through pads in one season with less than 500 miles. Did this 2 years in a row and they replaced them for me, but then the caliper slide pins froze due to aluminum calipers corroding and tightening around the sliders. The rubber seal on pistons broke down and allowed the brakes to drag, thus why the pads wore out so fast. One brake froze while driving and blew out the tire!
So, went with 100% SS Kodiaks. Never look back now. They have a 20% claimed stronger braking force than any competitor and I can attest that they stop my 10K very well!

Tie down. Took an angle grinder to get this one off.

Yea when I took the old ones off I had to cut them off with a saw zaw. I couldn't tell what brand they were. The old disk actually split long ways, as in vertical. I had never seen something so rusted. They were the brakes that came on it when we got the boat/trailer.
