Anyone have any druthers as to the effectiveness of PC Planner accompanied with C Map?? I've got a Furuno 1650 and was thinking I'd purchase the software+loader doofer to plug coords in (plus plan trips). Appreciate any feedback...

I have never used PC Planner. I am a big Fan of GPSU. IMHO excellent stuff for 55.00
You can use your own maps (Hint Hint....Look in the Bathy maps section of the Photo Gallery)
It is also the software behind Maps Unique and is the uploader used by most of the major software packages.

Capt Dave--
I checked the website for gpsu...it seems to be a good substitute. The PC Planner version (from what I've researched) is very similiar to a flight planning version I use which allows bathy maps as well, but is quite a bit more expensive (169 for loader + 179 for bathy of NC). We're starting to get a lot more serious about our tourney fishing and thought we ought to at least try something. Plus, I'm tired of trying to punch buttons in the middle of rockin' and rollin' around. I figured a 1 time purchase will help fill all the memory my GPS has and more.
That said, great website. Will be checking it daily as I'm a WB native but currently displaced!
Thanks.
