I second your caution on e-bay electronics. Recently I purchased a JRC 200 marine radio. The problem isn't the fault of the seller it is my fault. I bought a padio that has to have a MMSI# in it and without the manual I didn't know how to do this. And I still don't. However, most of these radio's have a restricted number of times you may attempt to install this number. Then you have to send it back to the manufacturer or some such. By the time you get done with this you have enough into the radio to have stock in the company.
The point is don't buy this stuff unless you have the where with all to correct this situation. Even a search of the web sites was of no use for me. So I have to chalk it up to experience. I am willing to admit my mistakes and share this with y'all.

Furuno just came out with a new 5.5 inch 600watt model. boaters world has it for around 8 hundred transducer and all. Don't know anything about it but furuno website now has info on it, been looking myself. Found it on ebay for a 719 starting bid and no one bid on it. But like you said be careful.

Reel Break,
I have a 2002 Sitex 106 Mk II that I am selling. It came off the Kencraft I just bought and was flush mounted on starboard behind plexiglass. It is in excellent shape. I replaced it with a Furuno GP-7000F NT plotter/ff combo. I've had one of these before and they are very good sounders and very easy to use. The only negative is that the bracket for the transducer is bent and should be replaced and the transducer cable's outer sheathing is cut to expose the inner wires (which are intact) right around where it went through the transom.
I'd be more than happy to let you look at it before you bought it. I travel throughout the Carolinas so I can bring it by for your inspection if you are a serious buyer.
Asking $300 OBO.

Steve,
I'll try to stop over to your place sometime when I know you are there. I bought another radio new and programmed that one OK. I now have this JRC it would make a good backup to my new one or I'd sell it if someone wants it.
I'll try to stop by one of these weekends if only to BS a while.
