Hunted at Anderson Creek with my son. Had one flurry of activity around 8:00 that lasted about 5 minutes and then pretty dead the rest of the day. A few good spots had action longer but most had little to show for our efforts.
Much worse than last year's pretty decent hunt.
Was this just a one field thing? How did others do?

Took us all day to get a 2 man limit. It was slow sledding though. Wish I had fished instead. I think what hurt us was a combine harvested wild flower and sun flower seeds 2 weeks before opening day. I have a rental property across from the field. I checked it Friday and it was full of birds. Too many to even think about counting. If I had my time to do over I would have fished bc it was slow shooting and hot!

I hunted a "pay-to-hunt" place near Snow Hill with my brother on Saturday. Good looking place, but no birds. I left early without firing a shot or even seeing a bird within range.

Same here. Lots of birds 1 to 2 weeks prior. Dead on the opener. Last year we had monsoon rain and t storms. Two bad years back to back.
