I've been trying to call for about a week to rent a slip in June. The recording says the hotel is closed but nothing about the marina or restaurant. My wife is down there this weekend and she said it looks like it's all closed for the summer. Anybody know if this is true?

Restaurant should be open. I think they are remodeling the motel.

Here's what they are currently doing. Restaurant is staying where it is, hotel is coming down and not being replaced, west docks will be fixed up as well as about 6 spots on the east dock, ships store will be closed. Slips will be for year round and a few for the summer(don't think they will be renting daily, weekly, or monthly). Haven't heard anything on the public ramp and they just repaired the concrete last month. And by the way LWF inlet currently is too shallow for them to safely dredge, and is less than 2 ft in many places, so it most likely won't be passable for a large part of the summer

That will really screw up my vacation plans. I've been keeping my boat there for a long time. Might be time to look at a different beach. Thanks for the info. Anywhere else close to keep a 24 footer for a week in june?

Prior to moving to the coast, I use to rent canal houses on Holden Beach. Many of the canal houses we stayed in had 3'-4' at low tide. I used the Lockwood Folly inlet but with it being too shallow this year, other guys can tell you about Shallotte inlet between Holden and Ocean Isle Beach. We used Holden Beach Properties for rentals, called to specify I wanted a deep water canal.

Holden Beach has a canal system towards the west end and close to Shallotte Inlet which is in good shape. Lots of those houses are rentals.

good luck

Yeah, we always stayed in Holden Beach on the canals before buying on Oak Island. It's one of the better "boaters" rental locations in NC. Two inlets to choose from. Walk right out the back door and step on the boat in the morning instead of the hustle of the boat ramp. Affordable, especially in the fall. Does not get much better.

Ocean Isle also has a canal system on the east side of the causeway and lots of rental houses on them. The concrete canals have plenty of water for most boats and most of the houses on them have docks.

Can someone update the status of the marina and ramp please?

Does the marina rent transient slips?

Thanks in advance.

The restaurant is open with normal hours.
The Ramps are open.
The Motel has been demolished.
I don't know if they rent transient slips.
Down here this week.

Ramp is public and parking is only on the sides going up to the road not the parking lots.
If you need a slip contact Randy at Carolina Watersports, he runs the jetski/pontoon rentals and also leases out the slips. (910) 336-0266

Inlet is dredged and passable but no cans yet to mark it.
