Greetings All,

The new IOS update is causing us some heartburn.

The users on Iphone's with a monthly subscription are failing verification coming back from apple is failing. We do NOT know why. We have exhausted all of our methods of solving it.

We need a little help....

I need to look at your app log files to try and figure out what is going on and why

Here is How to do it.

Getting Crash Logs Directly From a Device Without Xcode

Your users can retrieve crash reports from their device and send them to you via email by following these instructions.

(It is not possible to get device console logs directly from a device)

1) Open Settings app

2) Go to Privacy, then Diagnostics & Usage

3) Select Diagnostics & Usage Data

4) Locate the log for the crashed app. The logs will be named in the format: <AppName>_<DateTime>_<DeviceName>

5) Select the desired log. Then, using the text selection UI select the entire text of the log. Once the text is selected, tap Copy

6) Paste the copied text to Mail and send to an email address as desired

PLEASE send this to helpdesk@saltwatercentral.com ASAP so I can get this fixed ASAP!

Thank You for your help!

Dave

Dave,
So here's what I tried to fix it, but still no go.
App purchase is failing authentication.
I was running iOS 13.3 on iPhone 10s with said auth error.
Removed, then reinstalled Reefcast - same result.
Upgraded to iOS 13.3.1.
Removed then reinstalled Reefcast - same result.

When I login to Reefcast - I am using my SaltwaterCentral ID and PW.

Could it be that the app purchase is failing because it is looking for my Apple ID/PW at that point?
I have also tried my Apple creds but that doesn't get me logged into Reefcast app.

I can't get the analytic data you want because I don't have an option under Privacy for Diagnostics & Usage. (Note that under Analytics and Improvements I have all of these options turned off: - Share iPhone Analytics, Improve Siri & Dictation, and Share iCloud Analytics.

I don't see anywhere else I can get the diag logs you want. If you have an idea let me know.

So still Reefcast is failing. I can get the NWs reports from Reefcast. but not the Reefcast reports.

Let me know if there is anything else I can try.

Dave,
Still no go for me.
Side note, and maybe, or maybe not related - I am getting a website cert error whenever I try to go to SWC website - on two different PCs as well as iPhone. I suspect this is the issue, but don't know what or why at this point.

Additional info on the SWC website cert:
Issued by Let's Encrypt
Expires - 3/26/2020, 9:04:06am
RSA encryption

I can give you more details if needed. It shows as Not Trusted though.

CAP1,

You may have hit on it....

Try this....
What fixed this issue from my iPhone for me was going to Settings -> General -> About -> Certificate Trust Settings, and there is a section called "ENABLE FULL TRUST FOR ROOT CERTIFICATES". Under it lists the certificate that I installed on my iPhone. Once I enabled that, I'm good to go.

We run on Self-Signed Certificates. See if that fixes it.

Ok thank You!

Did you close the app and restart it or just open it up?

Dave,
I deleted the app, reinstalled, then went thru the whole thing from start to finish.

I tried the same thing this afternoon about 3pm as well. Exact same messages from your end that all is good, followed by the nondescript message from Apple about failed authentication.

Let me know if there is anything else you need me to try.

I'm betting this is mysteriously fixed in an upcoming iOS update and Apple will never confirm the bug is on their end.

This is why I wait 3-4 weeks following an IOS update request. I like to let everyone else work out the bugs!

Dave,
Still same for me this morning (Saturday).
I did get the monthly receipt from Apple for the yearly Reefcast app, so that part is working, but the actual installation still behaves the same as before and noted above. Something just isn't communicating back to the SWC servers from Apple it seems.

Dave,
Thanks for that. Deleted the app, re-installed it and it's working on my iPhone 10s running iOS 13.3.1.
Let me know if I can help troubleshoot it anytime.
Thanks again for your help.
