After 2 years, the Military Appreciation Day (MAD) is back on!. There are currently 49 boats entered and 309 troops scheduled to participate. I'm sure that the event could use some more volunteer boats for the event, so if you'd like to participate, you can go to the website here.

The forecast for Saturday is FANTASTIC!
I'll be out on my brother's boat the Tickertape with 5 marines from Cherry point, and I can't wait to get out there this weekend.

I haven't seen any plan for foul weather on either the main page or their facebook page.
However, the wind forecast for Saturday looks great!

It's the proposed thunderstorms that I am worried about. However, the wind does look great

We fish unless there is a NAMED storm, which happened several years ago at the Southport event, and we rescheduled. Best plan is a plan A, B, then C. A maybe offshore, B maybe nearshore, and C tucked behind Shackleford Banks. They honestly do not care, being out there with their buddies with people that appreciate what they do for all of us is the big thing! Remember, a lot of them have probably never fished in the ocean before or even been on a boat!
