With all the talk about global warming,
Alot of the scientific community is in a bitter debate on if
Global warming is Man Made or Just a phase of the earth.
Here's a good read. http://www.warwickhughes.com/blog/?p=189

I am with the People who think that its a Natural Solar event.....If one looks back in the Earths History, there were Major Earth changes that Mankind had nothing to do with !!!!!!!!!!!

Im going for natural earth cycle, possibly sped up by man. Remember, Same Ol used to be 5 miles or so offshore and there are sea shells in the NC mountains. Glaciers extended to I think Virginia. There used to be dinosaurs roaming around. People are nothing but a speck in Earth's history, no matter how important we all think we are. There is no possible way for mankind to stay on Earth forever. So bring on the global warming, the water is damn cold right now.

Over-hyped for political agendas.

both. it's a naturally occuring event that has been sped up for sure. it's a no brainer that all the carbon emmissions are having an effect, but it is not totally responsible. no reason why we shouldn't curtail some of our less clean habits. not totally revamping how we do things or re-writing laws but learning from the past and moving forward.

woo hoo....science debate!
I'll echo the sentiments being put forth already, but re-word them for fun.
I do think the presence/action of humans is having a contributory effect on the global climate, but the fossil record has demonstrated that the earth goes through hot/cold cycles and I think this recent stint is nothing more than one of those. You don't hear too much news about cold snaps like what happened in Fairbanks, AK last week from the environmentalists. All the hype about super-typhoons because of higher ocean temps got swept under the rug with this year's moderate tropical cyclone activity as well.
One good volcanic eruption/explosion would likely supress global temps and even possibly set off another pandemic cold snap. I'm not going to get too worried about it.

Our local weather guy Austin Caviness says that he has been watching and recording the weather and temps with a passion since he was a boy. He said last year that he has not documented the suggested warming and doesn't buy it.
I do not have any opinion on it one way or the other.

After conducting a comprehensive study in the Sneads Ferry area over several seasons it is clear that Global warming can be directly attributed to the increase in pigs being cooked in the immediate area. 8O

Thats it Joe, the temp went up 10 degrees in Wilson the other week when you cooked the pig. I also got a little unstable (something in the air).
